What does it mean?
Incorporating a seating chart into your Palisis product allows you to transition from general admission to allocated seating. This integration synchronises your Palisis inventory with a visual floor plan (via Seats.io), enabling customers to select specific spots, rows, or booths in real-time during the booking process.
What should I do?
To successfully integrate a seating chart into your Palisis product, you must configure three core elements: the product, a capacity template, and calendar events.
Creating your product
Begin by creating your product as usual, ensuring you define your prices and calendar events. For a detailed guide on standard product creation, please refer to this article.
Configuring the capacity template
This is a mandatory step for seating chart integration. You must link your capacity to the physical layout of your venue.
Create a new capacity template and assign it to the relevant seating chart.
Choose the corresponding chart from the drop-down list and save your changes.
Ensure that the capacity defined in Palisis perfectly matches the number of seats per category and channel configured in Seats.io.
If you cannot match the number of seats in Palisis with those in Seats.io, use the ‘Sync capacity from chart’ function to sync both platforms, taking the seat numbers per category from Seats.io, overwriting the numbers in Palisis. Remember to save the changes. To use the ‘Sync capacity from chart’ option, you must fully set up the chart in Seats.io, including the default event.

Linking the template to your product
The final step is to bridge the seating configuration with your sales offer.
Navigate to your Product setup.
In the capacity section, link the product to the specific Capacity Template you created in the previous step.
Double-check that your categories (e.g., VIP, Standard) align across both platforms to avoid booking errors.
The capacity template now displays a visual indicator (icon and chart name) when a chart is assigned.

Orphan seat prevention
The system also includes orphan seat prevention, which stops bookings from creating isolated single seats that are difficult to sell later. For more information, please visit the article Configuring orphan seat prevention.
Complete your product setup
Finally, finish configuring the remaining attributes for your product:
Routes: Define the path and stops for your service.
Timetables: Set the departure times and frequency.
Pick-ups: Configure specific meeting points or hotel pick-up locations, if applicable.
Pricing: Establish your price points and passenger categories.
