Where do I find it?
Setup > Products & Services > Calendar
What does it mean?
The Calendar is the core engine of your Palisis system. It allows you to define the start and end dates of your operating seasons and establish specific departure times for your various tours.
Configuring your calendar is essential for several reasons:
Webshop: It is mandatory to have an active calendar to sell products online. Without defined departures, your webshop cannot display availability to customers.
Capacity management: The calendar allows you to manage bookings against your available capacity, ensuring you never oversell a tour.
Departure generation: It automates the creation of daily events, providing your team with a clear, organised schedule of operations.
By accurately setting up your calendar, you ensure that your inventory is correctly synchronised across all sales channels, from your back office to your online storefront.
What should I do?
Prerequisites
Before setting up your calendar, ensure you have already created your Products and Routes, and that each route has at least one Waypoint assigned. If you require assistance with these steps, please refer to our initial setup guide.
Create the calendar
Navigate to Setup > Products & Services > Calendar and click the + Add button.
Enter a Name and an optional Description.
Specify the Duration by selecting the start and end dates (e.g., for a specific season or a multi-year period).
Click Save.
Note: The maximum duration for a single calendar is limited to three years and seven days.
Edit the timetable
Once the calendar is created, click the Edit timetable icon. Here, you will see a list of your available routes. If a route is missing, please verify that it has been assigned a waypoint.
To add departures or events to a route, click the + button to create a new rule.
Set operating days
Customise your schedule based on your specific operational needs:
-
By day of the week: By default, all days are selected. You can deselect days to limit operations (e.g., selecting only Saturdays and Sundays for weekend-only tours).
-
By day of the month: Choose Based on days of month to select specific dates (e.g., the 10th, 15th, and 28th). Type the date and press Enter for each entry. You could select All days and remove irrelevant days.
Set operating months
By default, all months are active. If your tour is seasonal (e.g., June to August only), use the toggle to select only the relevant months.
Define departure times and durations
When creating a rule, you must define the timing of your events:
-
Start Time: Enter the hours and minutes for your departures.
For example, for departures at 09:00 and 16:00, enter '9' and '16' in the hours field and '0' in the minutes field, pressing Enter after each value.
-
Duration: Specify the duration of each departure or event in minutes. This allows the system to accurately calculate end times—essential for a precise Calendar view and effective resource management. While there is no minimum duration, please note that any event shorter than 60 minutes will still occupy a full one-hour block in the Calendar display.
Finally, click Save. You can repeat this process to add multiple rules—for example, if you have a different timetable for weekends than you do for weekdays.
You may repeat this process as often as necessary to add multiple rules. For example, if you wish to introduce a weekend-only departure at 17:30, simply click the '+' button again to define this new rule.
The timetable will list all departures as follows:
How to cancel or suspend a departure?
If you need to cancel a specific departure due to unforeseen circumstances (such as traffic incidents, city marathons, or operational delays), use the 'Preview timetable and add exceptions' button.
-
Select the date: Locate and select the affected date on the calendar.
-
Cancel the entire day: To close sales for all departures on that date, select ‘Disable all’ next to the date. Once confirmed, the date will turn white, indicating the entire day is inactive.
-
Cancel a specific time slot: If you only need to suspend one particular departure, select the specific time from the list. The date will then be highlighted in light blue, indicating that while some departures are cancelled, others remain active.
