What does it mean?

Tax rates are configured at the product level to ensure compliance with regional fiscal regulations. This allows the system to automatically apply distinct VAT rates within a single package—for instance, when transportation services and attractions are subject to different tax requirements.

VAT rates are managed at the product level to accommodate varying tax requirements. For instance, a transportation product like a Hop-on Hop-off tour can be configured with a different VAT rate than a non-transportation service, such as a guided walking tour.

To review a sold bundle, head to Operations > Tickets and Bookings. Clicking on the relevant booking will reveal a comprehensive breakdown of the package components, ensuring full visibility into the associated VAT rates for each.

The breakdown of products with varying VAT rates is also clearly presented on the receipt or booking confirmation provided to your customers upon purchasing a bundle. As demonstrated below, the footer displays the distinct VAT rates associated with each bundle component, corresponding to the items listed above:

  • ES-TOURS-A123456-TRANSPORT

Tax Rule

In many jurisdictions (and within Palisis logic), VAT is not applied to the sale of a multi-purpose voucher. VAT is only triggered and recorded once that voucher is redeemed for a specific ticket or service.
