What does it mean?
IRIS is an instant mobile payment solution widely used in Greece. It allows customers to pay securely and instantly directly from their bank accounts.
Currently, the IRIS payment method is supported exclusively for Greek operators under the Palisis Marketpay (Adyen-powered) payment solution. Please note that IRIS is currently available as a checkout option for your Webshop only.
What should I do?
To enable IRIS for your webshop, please follow these simple activation steps:
- Submit an activation request directly to Palisis Support or contact your dedicated Account Manager.
- Ensure your request explicitly includes your Palisis Account Name and the specific Webshop details.
- Sit back and relax! No additional technical setup or code changes are required from your side once our Customer Success team completes the backend activation.
Once activated, IRIS will automatically appear as a checkout option on your customer storefront.
Our Customer Success team will inform you once IRIS has been activated for your onsite and online payments. IRIS will only appear as a payment option after it has been enabled for the specific customer account.
How does it look at the Webshop checkout?
Once IRIS is active, your customers will enjoy a seamless, secure, and modern payment journey on your Webshop:

Selecting the IRIS Payment option
On your Webshop's checkout screen, customers can easily select IRIS alongside standard card checkout options.

QR code or bank list options
Customers are then presented with two payment paths: they can either generate a secure, real-time QR code or choose their preferred bank from the list.

Instant QR code payments
By generating a QR code, your customers can instantly scan it using their mobile banking application and quickly authorise the transfer. Once authorised, the Webshop immediately updates to show a booking confirmation.

Alternative Bank Transfer
Alternatively, selecting the Bank List lets customers select their bank from a comprehensive list to complete the booking via their web portal.

Can we use IRIS for onsite sales via handheld booking terminals?
Currently, IRIS is designed and supported only for online checkout journeys via your Webshop storefront. Onsite terminal payments continue to use your standard, fully-integrated chip-and-pin or contactless methods.
Are there additional contracts required?
No separate banking contracts are required. IRIS transactions are seamlessly routed through your existing Palisis Marketpay configuration.
