What does it mean?

Upselling and cross-selling are sales techniques that boost revenue and improve customer satisfaction. Upselling encourages customers to buy a more expensive package, such as a deluxe tour. Cross-selling involves suggesting additional products, like a museum visit, to complement a city tour. These strategies increase revenue and provide a more tailored and satisfying customer experience.

This feature is available on the Palisis webshop, and in this article, we will explain how to set it up. It allows you to offer your customers up to 10 options for up-selling or cross-selling.

What should I do?

First, go to Sales channels > Webshop and click the “Edit” button.

Under the "Booking Process" tab, you must enable the "Checkout with Basket" option to offer cross-selling. This is essential for adding other products to the basket.

Here you can also activate/deactivate suggestions for upselling, set the maximum number of suggestions you want (up to 10), and hide the upsell option if a client uses a mobile phone.

After that, you should navigate to Products & Services > Prices and click on the “Edit prices” button for the price for which you wish to create an upsell or cross-sell option.

For example, if you have a “Hop-on-Hop-off” product with two prices, one for 24 hours and another for 48 hours, you can create an upsell option for the 24-hour ticket and offer your customers the 48-hour ticket before completing the booking.

If you want to offer a cross-sell option, follow the same steps and select the "is cross-sell" setting.

You can offer up to 10 options for the same price, including up-selling and cross-selling options.

In our example, the checkout page, when the user selects the 24-hour ticket, would look like this:

Here, the customer could change the 48 hours ticket by clicking on the “+Change” button:

Or she/he could add the “Ronda tour” to the basket by clicking on the “+Add” button:
