How to validate tickets using a device

What does it mean?

Ticket validation is the process of scanning a ticket’s QR code to confirm whether it is still valid. This is particularly useful for tickets with a specific validity period after check-in, such as 24-hour or 48-hour hop-on hop-off passes. Since passengers can use the same ticket throughout its validity period, operations staff must verify if a ticket is still active or has expired. To validate a ticket, staff scan the ticket’s QR code using a device. It’s important to note that validation is done per ticket, not per booking. The booking QR code cannot be used for ticket validation—it is only used for actions like issuing refunds.

For ticket validation to work, the ticket must have a validity period. If the ticket does not have one, scanning it will trigger the check-in process instead. If the ticket has already been checked in, the system will show an error message.

What should I do?

If you need to scan tickets or vouchers, simply click on the barcode icon next to the printer icon.

After scanning a ticket, the device may display different responses. In all cases, the following details will be shown: the ticket's start and end date of validity, the date and time of the event (if previously set), the product, the route, the passenger category, the pricing plan, and more.
