Watch this video to learn how to create a new partner.
Where do I find it?
Sales channels > Partner management
What does it mean?
The Partners functionality in Palisis allows other entities to act as sales agent or as a supplier for you. Each tour operator/supplier is capable of determining which of his products can be sold at what financial conditions (price itself, place of payment, commission and markup). Apart from those, other characteristics can be configured per agent, such as the voucher layout or a blackout period.
What should I do?
Probably, some of your partners are also partners of some of our customers in the tourism industry. Therefore it's possible that they already work with Palisis. As a first step, you should check if the partner already exists in our database.
Search for an existing partner
Enter the name of that Partner (full or partial) into the search box:
If the result of your search shows that your partner already exists in Palisis, then you have to click on the partner, and the partner will receive an invitation by email (Partner Cooperation Request in Palisis) and in their partnering section of Palisis. They then have to accept your request to create a technical partnership between both companies.
Important note: If your partner already exists, but he works with a different default currency than you, then you need to create a new partner with the corresponding currency. At the moment, Palisis doesn't support a partnership between two entities with different currencies.
In that case or if that partner is yet not registered, you should create a new partner by yourself:
Create a new partner
If you need to create a new partner, then click on the '+ Add' button:
Then, you have to insert at least the Name and E-mail into the mandatory fields.
Important note: Partners are primarily defined within the Palisis system by their E-mail-Address. That does mean that there can't be multiple partners with the same E-mail-Address. Should you receive such a warning, please head back to the partner search, as this partner seems to exist already.
You can add more information to a newly created partner:
- Partner Group
You can group your partners according to your own requirements. For instance, maybe it's important to you as a supplier (tour operator) to create different partner groups depending on the area they work, i.e., Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, etc. Or maybe it's crucial for you to group your partners according to their line of business, i.e., Shops, Kiosks, Concierges, etc.
This is a helpful way to filter and restrict your searchings in the reports.
If you need to create a new Partner Group, then you have to head to Sales channels > Partner management > Partner Groups, click on the '+ Add' button, introduce a name for your partner group and finally click on "Save" at the bottom.
- Partner Manager:
If you assign the partner to the person in your company who manages the partner account, then it will be easier to retrieve information from the reports, you will be able to filter and restrict searchings in the reports according to the Partner Manager parameter.
- Activity Type:
It's an informative field about the activity of your partner.
- Cost Center:
This refers to the department in your company that is in charge of this partner.
After filling all the blanks in, please, don't forget to click on "Save".
Now you have created the partnership, and it appears on the main Partner management screen. Here you will be able to configure the boxoffice settings after clicking on 'Edit':
Where:
- Boxoffice mandated booking: If you allow mandated bookings for your partner, then he will be able to sell products in the BoxOffice on their behalf.
- Boxoffice credit card: Here you can enable credit card payments in your partner BoxOffice. The payments will go to your bank account through your own payment gateway directly.
- Boxoffice cancellation: it allows to cancel bookings in the boxoffice.
- Boxoffice refund: it allows to refund bookings on the boxoffice.
If the partner is a sales agent, then the next step will be to assign permissions, pricing, and external vouchers. If the partner is a supplier, then the next step will be to configure the "Partner offer". Let's see how to do it in the following sections.
