Functionalities
Validate a ticket
The device showcases a green screen and a positive audit signal, signifying a successful validation. It also provides information on the remaining number of uses, allowing users to track the usage status of the ticket.
However, if the ticket is no longer valid, the device presents a red screen with an error message and emits a negative audit signal to notify users of the issue.
Check-in ticket
The device displays a green screen with a positive audit signal to indicate a successful check-in. It also provides information on the remaining number of uses, allowing users to track the usage status of the ticket.
However, in the event of an unsuccessful check-in, the device shows a red screen with an error message and emits a negative audit signal.
It is possible that, despite the ticket being initially booked for a different event, date, or time, it can be rescheduled to another event based on the account or device settings. In such cases, the terminal displays a yellow screen with a warning audit signal to alert users about the rescheduled ticket for a different event.
Redeem voucher
Our Validator device is designed to streamline the redemption process for both your vouchers and external vouchers, ensuring a swift and accurate check-in experience. Customers can use the same voucher or external voucher for subsequent validations every time they board the bus.
The Validator operates by scanning a unique reference, typically presented as a barcode on the voucher. This process facilitates immediate redemption and check-in.
Initial scan (unredeemed vouchers)
When an unredeemed barcode is scanned for the first time:
- The Validator reads the customer's barcode.
- The system redeems the booking and automatically marks it as "checked in." This is a two-step process confirmed on the device's display.
- The device then clearly displays the current validity status of the booking and presents a positive audit signal upon successfully redeeming the voucher. It also provides information on the remaining number of uses, allowing users to track the usage status of the voucher.
However, in the case of an invalid voucher, the device displays a red screen with an error message. It emits a negative audit signal, alerting the driver or guide to a redemption issue.
Subsequent scans (for validation purposes)
If a barcode that has already been redeemed is scanned again for validation (e.g., for re-boarding the bus):
The Validator will display the current validity status of that booking. No further redemption or check-in actions are performed.
The system directly checks the validity of the first booking component it encounters, regardless of the route.
