What does it mean?
This feature allows you to link every cash settlement closed on a device with a reference also linked with the safe bag.
This functionality allows each closed settlement to be linked to an external reference or code provided by your security or transport company. The sales user will have to scan that external reference or code (QR code, barcode, etc.) at the moment of closing the cash settlement.
The safe bag where the sales user hands over the money could be labeled with the same reference or code, so you can keep track of your settlements. It’s a security measurement to prevent fraudulent behaviors as well.
Where do I find it?
The reference will be visible on the Cash settlement overview page.
What should I do?
If you are interested in this feature, please contact our support team here asking for that.
What should I do in the backoffice?
In the old backoffice, the external reference will be displayed in the Cash Management detailed view after the cash settlement id.
However, in the new backend, the external reference is not visible by default on the Cash Management screen, it’s something you need to explicitly enable.
For that, you have to go to Cash Management, click on the gear icon on the top right side, then enable the “External Reference” setting and click on “Save”:
After that, the external reference code will be displayed in the Cash Management screen next to the number of tickets block.
What should the sales user do on the device?
The device will ask the sales user for the reference after clicking on Cash Settlement. He/she can add it manually by entering the reference using the keyboard or he/she can scan a QR code with the reference. In either case the reference will be displayed in the settlement screen.
After that, the sales user can click on the "Submit Cash Settlement" button to close the settlement. If the external reference has been configured as optional, then the cash settlement can be closed with or without the reference.
Finally, the cash settlement receipt is printed as usual.
