What does it mean?

This feature allows you to automatically upload reports (Public Reports and My Reports) to your FTP server. This tool is especially useful if you work with your own BI system. You will still receive an email with your scheduled reports.

Where can I find it?

This functionality applies for “My Reports” and “Public Reports”. You can find it here:

Reports & Analysis > Configuration > Public Reports

What should I do?

You can activate this setting for a new report or for an existing one. In order to do so, you will need to enter the following information for your FTP connection:

  • FTP IP or URL
  • Port
  • Username
  • Password
  • FTP File Name (can include date format like yyy-MM-dd), for instance, you can use {{YYYYMMddHHmmSS}} as part of the file name to stamp the date daily.
  • FTP Target path

After that, you can test the connection to confirm everything is correct.

You can also set a schedule to automatically send and upload reports at your convenience. Please, take a look at our article about public reports if you don’t know how to configure a recurring report. Don’t forget to save the entered data.

You can generate a report at any time, for testing or other purposes, by clicking on the “Send Now” button. The system will send the report by email and will also upload it to the FTP server at that moment.

You will receive the report by email (as long as you have entered a notification email address) as a confirmation that it has been uploaded to your FTP server.

If the upload fails, you will receive an email with a warning message explaining the error (timeout, wrong username, etc).
